Remembering Paul Van Sickle

Mr. Van Sickle wore many hats during his 32 years at MHS

Our sincere condolences go out to the family of former math teacher Paul Van Sickle, who died Monday, October 25.

Paul retired from Miss Hall's in 2010, after thirty-two years at the School and forty-four years as a teacher.

During his tenure at MHS, Paul served a number of years as Director of Educational Technology, helping to usher the School into the computer age. In addition to teaching and advising, Paul also coached JV softball for fourteen years, coached cross-country skiing, was junior class advisor, and served on the School’s Technology and Long-Range Planning committees.

"The Van Sickle family has a deep and proud connection to Miss Hall's, and we are grateful to count three generations as a part of the MHS family," said Head of School Julia Heaton. Paul and his wife, Susan, are the parents of Amy Van Sickle Ober ’89, Hannah Van Sickle ’92, and Andrew Garret Van Sickle; and they have four grandchildren.

PRVS will be missed by so many in our community.

We invite you to share your memories of Paul at communications@hungrong.com, and we will post them here as they come in.
